Julie Savarino is an attorney and an internationally renowned, award-winning expert in client and business development for lawyers, law firms, and other professional services entities. Throughout her 26 years of practice, she has helped thousands of lawyers and other professionals, as well as many of the world's leading professional services firms generate millions of dollars in new business by providing strategic and widely acclaimed business and client development services, referring work, and developing and streamlining effective business and client development processes and procedures as a certified white belt in Legal Lean Six Sigma¨ and Project Management.

While attending the University of Detroit Mercy Law School, she won the "American Jurisprudence Award" for outstanding performance in trial practice and "Best Brief & Oral Advocate Award" for Moot Court.
Julie Savarino is the inventor, creator, and founder of the nationally acclaimed "Marketing Partner Forum¨," now in its 20th year and owned by Thomson Reuters. In addition to her invention of this highly successful event, she helps clients develop profitable new programs and events for their clients, prospective clients, and firms including Inside Counsel's SuperConference, now in its 15th year. She also creates and maintains significant content on the www.BusDevInc.com website, created the award-nominated Rainmaker Coach™ app in 2013, the first of its kind in the legal industry, and created the Rainmaker Express™ video series in 2014.
Julie is a frequent and highly rated keynote and guest speaker who has delivered hundreds of speeches, presentations, and retreat programs on client and business development subjects. She is one of the highest rated speakers at American Bar Association annual meetings, International Bar Association meetings, Association of Legal Administrators conferences, and Legal Marketing Association conferences and programs, among others.
She is the author of more than 100 articles and has been published in leading legal magazines such as The American Lawyer, Bloomberg and The National Law Journal. She is quoted frequently and has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, London's Legal Business and Australia's Financial Times and Lawyers Weekly.
She also wrote the definitive, 1500-page handbook titled
'Client Development & Relationship Management - Getting New Business in the Door©'.
She wrote and regularly updates the landmark study and compilation, Benchmarking "Best Practices"
in Client Development. Julie also writes a blog and a regular Trend Report e-mail
newsletter that is often reprinted in leading journals.
At the University of Detroit Mercy Law School, Julie served as adjunct professor for one of the country's first law school courses on client relations and development. In 2015, Julie gained White Belt Certification in Legal Lean Six Sigma and Project Management. She is listed on the ABA Women and Minority Speakers Bureau under law practice management. Her company, Business Development Inc., is a certified woman-owned business by the Women's Business Enterprise National Council.
Julie and her company regularly provide support to numerous charitable and community entities and efforts. She devoted significant time towards helping protect the sanctity of military funerals by serving pro bono as communication strategist for the 2010 United States Supreme Court Case Snyder v. Phelps. This case culminated on August 6, 2012 when the President of the United States signed a new law containing a provision limiting all military funeral protests nationwide to two hours before and two hours after any such service. Her prior in-house experience includes serving as Director of Business Development at the national accounting and management consulting firm of Grant Thornton and as Marketing Director at the Butzel Long law firm. Ms. Savarino is a licensed lawyer in the state of Michigan and holds a law degree from the University of Detroit Mercy Law School. In addition, she holds an MBA in finance from Michigan State University, where she majored in both finance and marketing. During that time, she helped develop new revenue sources for a Domino's Pizza franchisee and the Stroh Brewery. She received her undergraduate degree in political science from The University of Michigan.
